Join Simon, the Grumpy Shepherd, and his siblings as they learn about God’s immeasurable love for them proven by the gift of His Son, Jesus. Simon learns that his worth is defined by God, not by how the world sees him, and how worthy Jesus is to receive our praise.

Cast Needs:
This play can be pulled off successfully with as few as 15 kids, 4 – 5 rehearsals, and less than $50. You will need 8 children of various ages for speaking parts
and the rest will sing in the choir – some can even double up when their speaking part is finished. We worked out simple hand motions for the choir to
perform that added a lot to the performance.

Supplies Needed:
God’s Kids Worship White Christmas CD, or Barrel of Carols Video DVD or Data DVD from www.godskidsworship.com. This will provide all the music you will
need. Any other supplies are up to you, depending on what you have and what you’d like the stage to look like. Here is how we set up our stage: We had our
shepherds on the left, the choir in the middle and a manger scene on the right. The shepherds’ side had: a fire pit made of stones, colored tissue paper and
lights inside to look like fire, some trees and some sheep made out of foam. We had the choir in the middle and the Angel stood in the back so she could
easily step up, deliver her line, then rejoin the choir. The manger scene had two bench-style chairs and a wooden manger with the baby Jesus. We cut strips
of brown paper to make a simple house-shape on the wall behind them.
